'Oh my days!' - Tottenham fans joyous as Jose Mourinho springs a major surprise against Norwich

Jose Mourinho has sprung a major surprise in his Tottenham team for this evening's Premier League clash against Norwich City with Hugo Lloris making his long-awaited return.

The World Cup winner has been out of action for over three months after dislocating his elbow at Brighton & Hove Albion at the start of October.

Paulo Gazzaniga has deputised for the Frenchman in his absence and has performed very well but Mourinho has brought the club captain straight back into his side.

Lloris, who returned to training with his teammates at Hotspur Way last week, is back in the side ahead of schedule as the Spurs boss had previously predicted that his shot-stopper would not be available again until next month.

"I told [you] one month ago, February," said the 56-year-old. "So the normal thing is February.

"If you ask me late February or early February, at this moment I go more for early.

"Things are going well. He's getting his confidence back, he's training so I would say he's one of our new players in the January transfer window."

Lloris is one of two changes from the side that drew 0-0 at Watford at the weekend as Ryan Sessegnon comes in for Japhet Tanganga.

Christian Eriksen once again starts on the bench but there is no place amongst the substitutes for neither Danny Rose or Troy Parrott.

Lloris' return has gone down well with a number of Tottenham fans and they've had plenty to say about him on Twitter.

Spurs haven't scored in the league since the 2-2 draw against Norwich City in December but Mourinho stated at his press conference that he is confident they will return to winning ways at home to the Canaries.

"We believe that better days are coming. We're positive," he said. "Three days where after the first day of recovering we still managed to two days to work tactically and improve step by step. It's today two months since my arrival and we're positive.

"Good atmosphere, players very positive, players happy with some little evolutions that we had in the last couple of weeks. We like to play at home, let's go for it.

"We know Norwich come from a victory and closed the gap to their targets. But we believe in ourselves and we are ready. Tomorrow is going to be our day."
