Ofir Marciano shone for Hibs in the sun at Easter Road

Ofir Marciano enjoyed the weather, but most inside Easter Road enjoyed his performance as the Hibs ‘keeper produced a Man of the Match display to keep their unbeaten run going.

It now stretches to nine league games under Paul Heckingbottom although that was put to the test late on in the 0-0 draw with Celtic.

Odsonne Edouard saw his stoppage time chance save by a big right hand from Marciano, before he showed brilliant agility and reactions to keep out Jozo Simunovic’s header from the resulting corner.

Marciano had already saved well from an Edouard free-kick, and was a big part of Hibs keeping their clean sheet.

“First of all I enjoyed the weather – it’s a amazing!” he said. “It’s a rare thing to happen in Scotland.

“It was a great game. A great performance for both teams and Scottish football as well. It’s something we need to be proud of.

Paul Heckingbottom sees no reason why Hibs can't go unbeaten for rest of the season

“I’m a bit disappointed that we didn’t take the three points but on the other hand I’m happy that we took one.

Of his late saves, he added: “Any save that you make – it doesn’t matter which minute – is vital because you help your team.

“You give them a boost and confidence and I’m happy that I did. It’s probably one of the best games I’ve played this season.

“Sometimes in games when teams are trying to score in the last minute, you raise yourself. You raise your focus levels and that’s what I did.

“It was a great header and I’m happy that the ball came to a good area where I could react and save it and save it to a safe area, which I did.

“The effort the boys put in was great. It’s not easy when it’s hot. You require more desire to play but we did it.

“At the start we had good chances but we couldn’t score. It was en even game.”
