Ofir Marciano nears shock Feyenoord move as ex-Hibs star closes in on new club

Former Hibs goalkeeper Ofir Marciano is closing in on a move to Feyenoord, according to a report.

The Israel international left Hibs in the summer after deciding against signing a new deal, with many expecting he would move to England or back to his homeland.

But now he’s set for a chance at Dutch giants Feyenoord with the 31-year-old set to seal a move in the next 24 hours.

The Scottish Sun say Marciano will complete the move soon and join a side who finished a lowly fifth in the Eredivisie last season.

The 31-year-old enjoyed a successful five years at Easter Road and is highly-regarded as one of the club's best goalkeepers of the last two decades.

It was a major blow to Jack Ross when he decided against extending his stay and Marciano and his family posted emotional farewells to their adopted home of Edinburgh when they left.

Ross has then moved on and signed former Arsenal keeper Matt Macey on an extended deal while also handing a new deal to Kevin Dabrowski.

It's still a position Hibs are expected to strengthen more before the new campaign despite Macey impressing.
