The website "TSUMUGU: Japan Art & Culture" (https:// tsumugu.yomiuri.co.jp/en) debuted in Japanese and English on Tuesday as the official portal of the "Tsumugu Project: Promoting, Restoring and Preserving the Beauty of Japan's Art."
The Tsumugu Project aims to serve as a concierge to Japanese culture, highlighting the appeal of a range of cultural goods from stylish crafts and wagashi confectionery to Japanese fine art and traditional performing arts that are considered difficult to understand. The project is jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Agency, the Imperial Household Agency and The Yomiuri Shimbun.
Among the website's offerings is a "What to See" section that introduces artwork currently on display at national museums and other locations nationwide, and "Tsumugu Gallery," which offers an up-close look at national treasures and other masterpieces through a zoom function.

The website is produced and managed by The Yomiuri Shimbun under the supervision of specialized institutions, including national museums and the National Theatre. It has debuted in Japanese and English, with a view to offering more languages in the future.
