Official: College GameDay is coming to Athens

What we all expected is now official.

College GameDay, ESPN’s flagship college football show, has announced that it will be in Athens, Georgia for next weekend’s UGA vs Notre Dame game.

Georgia, ranked No. 3, and Notre Dame, No. 7, will square off in a top ten matchup Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

The last meeting between the Bulldogs and the Irish saw Georgia come away with a big win by the score of 20-19.

The meeting will have huge playoff implications. For Notre Dame, this is a game that, if they win, could propel the Irish into playoff contention come season’s end, even if they drop game along the way. A loss, and Notre Dame better hope they win out. For Georgia, a loss would mean the Dawgs HAVE to beat Florida, Texas A&M, Auburn and then Alabama, assuming they make it there. There would be no room for error if Georgia does not come out on top.

Notre Dame is no joke, but I’m giving my official prediction right now of a Georgia win, 31-14. The Dawgs are rolling, doing just about everything right. Notre Dame’s run defense looks less than stellar.
