Fresh off a division-winning victory over the Minnesota Vikings, the Green Bay Packers now have two different clinching scenarios to know for Week 17.
The Packers have an opportunity to clinch a first-round bye on their own and a chance to secure the No. 1 seed with a little help.
The official clinching scenarios, via the NFL:
Packers clinch first-round bye
1. Packers win over Lions OR
2. Saints loss to Panthers OR
3. Packers tie with Lions and 49ers loss to Seahawks OR
4. Packers tie with Lions and Saints tie with Panthers
Packers clinch No. 1 seed in NFC
1. Packers win over Lions and 49ers loss or tie to Seahawks OR
2. Packers tie with Lions and 49ers loss to Seahawks and Saints loss or tie to Panthers
The Packers go to Ford Field to play the Lions, the Saints play in Carolina against the Panthers and the 49ers take on the Seahawks in Seattle on Sunday night, the final regular season game of the year.
The Packers have already clinched a home playoff game and nothing less than the No. 3 seed in the NFC. Nothing more than a win over the Lions on Sunday still guarantees the Packers a first-round bye.
