Gardai arrested a driver in Kilkenny on Monday after they found him in breach of multiple laws.
The motorist was involved in a collision in the City and had his vehicle seized after officials arrived on scene.
The person was found to be disqualified from driving and wanted by officers on a number of other bench warrants.
Under the Road Traffic Acts, drivers can be disqualified in one of two ways:
- by court order
- by gathering too many penalty points
Drivers are required to surrender their licence to the National Driver Licence Service within ten to 14 days of being ordered to stop driving.
The vehicle owner was taken into custody and charged, with a court date approaching.
It is understood that he was at fault for the collision and no injuries were reported.
Confirming the arrest on Facebook, gardai wrote: “Kilkenny Roads Policing Unit attended the scene of a road traffic collision in the City yesterday.

“He was arrested and charged and is due to appear in court today. The vehicle was seized.”
