Officer worker transforms desk into 'mountain cabin' with fireplace and moose head

An office worker went all out when it came to making his desk feel homely - transforming it into a make-shift mountain cabin complete with wood panelling, stove and stuffed moose heads.

Lucas Mundt, 36, left his coworkers in stitches after sharing his passion for alpine life, by bringing a piece of the mountains to his office.

He asked his boss, Mike Beckham, 42, for permission to decorate and soon there was a bearskin rug, plush moose heads, a light-up fireplace, and a candelabra illuminating his cubicle at drinkware firm Simple Modern in Moore, Oklahoma, USA.

Lucas even covered the walls and floor in wood panelling, giving his workspace that much needed cosy alpine feel, but he has three monitors which ruin the ambience a bit.

The logistics analyst said: "I came up over the weekend so that I could finish it before anyone would see it.

"I didn't keep close track of the time, but I would estimate it took ten to twelve hours. No regrets.

"I was a little vague when asking, I asked if it was ok to 'decorate my cubicle a little' - little is subjective here!

"Then I checked to see if there were any impending office moves before committing to this."

CEO Mike said: "I was just blown away by the creativity and commitment it took to bring a Colorado cabin to life in a cubicle.

"I also loved that he felt the freedom and desire to bring all of himself to work.

"Everyone loves it. Several people have been brainstorming how they can add their own personal touch to their offices and cubicles."

Lucas completed his transformation on January 13, and his colleagues saw it the next day.
