Office cleaner stabbed on way home from work near IFSC in Dublin sadly dies

An office cleaner who was stabbed on her way home from work in Dublin has sadly died -two weeks on from the incident.

Urantsetseg Tserendorj (48), who is originally from Mongolia was left fighting for her life after she was stabbed in the neck near the IFSC in Dublin on the night of the 20th of January, the Irish Star reports.

She was taken to Dublin’s Mater Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery to try and save her life.

But this morning, doctors made the heartbreaking decision to turn her life support machine off, and she was declared dead.

Her devastated husband had been by her bedside ever since the horrific incident.

She was a mother to two children and had lived and worked in Dublin for a number of years.

A teenager is currently charged before the courts in connection with the woman’s stabbing.

In a press release this morning gardai confirmed the woman’s death.

A Garda spokesperson said: "A woman in her 40s seriously injured in the course of an incident on the 20th of January 2021 while walking on the pedestrian walkway, between Georges Dock and Custom House Quay, IFSC, Dublin 1 was pronounced dead at The Mater University Hospital today, 3rd February 2021.

"Gardaí await the outcome of a post-mortem examination to determine the course of further investigations in the case."
