Offers over £9k for Paisley flat rammed with previous owner's belongings

When hunting for a house it can sometimes feel as though you have to be earning millions to find somewhere comfortable.

Between mortgages and solicitor fees, getting on the property market can be pretty pricey.

So when a ‘well-connected’ home in the heart of Paisley was listed on an auction website for a shockingly low £9k, the started bid almost seemed too good to be true.

But that’s because it is - as the flat is in need of a major update.

While it's rare that to find a house for sale that doesn’t require any changes, this particular home is in need of a bigger clean up than most.

The Paisley property on Causeyside Street, was put on the market recently, but has been getting all the wrong kinds of attention due to its, ahem, slightly messy interior.

The flat boast a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom but every square inch is stuffed with clutter.

Pictures show rubbish strewn across each room, cupboard falling off their hinges and a makeshift curtain created from bedsheets.

Despite the glaring flaws, the optimistic listing describes the flat as “an ideal purchase”.

Future Property Auctions in Shawlands, who are marketing the property, say: “It is an ideal purchase for a buy-to-let investor or landlord looking to add to their portfolio.

“As a university town there is a high student population as well as the area’s largest hospital.”

Fancy taking on this diamond in the rough? The winner of the auction could scoop a real bargain here - with plenty money left over for renovations - and maybe a skip.
