Offer prayers at nearby mosques: cleric

A day before the Ganesh immersion, noted religious leader Maulana Syed Qubool Pasha Shuttari urged Muslims to perform Friday prayers in their local mosques.

“I request Muslims to perform the Friday prayers in neighbourhood mosques. Muslims are peace-loving and should cooperate with the police. I am certain that this (Ganesh) procession will be peaceful,” he said.
