Offensive tackle Zach Sterup signs ERFA tender with Miami

The Miami Dolphins finalized one of their pending restricted free agents yesterday, locking in offensive tackle Zach Sterup on a one-year tender to remain on the Dolphins for the 2019 season. Miami, who has a clear hole in the starting line-up at right tackle, isn’t likely to bank on Sterup to fill the void.

Sterup, 26-years old, has played in 12 games total with two starts, one in each of the last two seasons. His expected role on the 2019 season could potentially expand, but don’t expect Sterup to push much beyond the special teams units unless Miami is experiencing significant health issues along the offensive line.

Sterup has needed a few years to settle in with a team, the Dolphins are his fourth team since leaving Nebraska.
