Offensive lineman Trey Leroux loses his black stripe

The season has started for Ohio State but there’s still some newcomers shedding their black stripes. And in case you missed them, we’re continuing to bring them to you here at Buckeyes Wire. In fact, in the midst of game prep for a night-time affair at Penn State, two more freshmen lost their black stripes on Tuesday of this week.

One of those that was added to an impressive list of “official” OSU players shedding their black stripes was offensive lineman Trey Leroux. Out of Norwalk, Ohio, the 6-foot, 8-inch, 355-pound Leroux was rated as a three-star prospect and top 100 offensive tackle in Ohio according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

He is more or less a depth guy at this point, but he’s got the size and build to develop into something to keep an eye on as his career continues.

Leroux showed gratitude for the honor with a short ceremony being posted on the official Ohio State Football Twitter account.

“Just want to thank the entire offensive line unit, coach Stud (Studwarski), coach Kennedy specifically — the entire strength staff,” Leroux said. “Go Bucks!”
