Offenders on the run for NINE years caught at Bristol Airport

Two people who had been wanted for nine years have been caught by police at Bristol Airport.

Avon and Somerset Police officers based at the airport managed to track down two people who had been on the run from prison for almost a decade.

A picture shows what appears to be two smartly-dressed men stopped by police officers in a busy area of the terminal.

The date when claimants will be moved across to Universal Credit has been revealed

The airport's policing team this afternoon (March 23) tweeted: "That moment when you've been on the run from prison for nine years and you decide to fly through Bristol Airport and meet their #ProjectServator officers..."

Project Servator is a tactic used by Avon and Somerset Constabulary - and forces across the country - to provide highly-visible, yet unpredictable, public patrols to disrupt criminal activity ranging from shoplifting to serious crime such as terrorism.

Brexiteers behind M4 and M5 'go slow' protest say next one will be 'larger'

The identity of the people caught, or the nature of their offences, is not yet known. Police have been contacted for comment.
