Off-road motorcyclist, 26, dies after crashing into wall near Gwaun Cae Gurwen in Neath Port Talbot

An off-road motorcyclist has died after crashing into a wall, police have said.

The 26-year-old rider died as a result of the crash which happened in a lane in Tair Gwaith near Gwaun Cae Gurwen in Neath Port Talbot on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said the force was appealing for anyone who saw the crash, which involved an orange KTM off-road motorcyle, to get in touch.

“Shortly before 1pm on Sunday we were called to an incident which occurred in a rear lane between St David’s Road and Brook Terrace, Tair Gwaith, near Gwaun Cae Gurwen, in Neath Port Talbot,” the spokesman said.

“The incident involved an orange KTM off-road motorcycle, which collided with the rear boundary wall of a property at the location.

“Despite the best efforts of local residents, the Wales Air Ambulance, and the Welsh Ambulance Service, the 26-year-old local male rider of the motorcycle sadly died.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information related to the incident, including footage, is asked to call police on 101 quoting occurrence 2000316743.
