Off-road biker arrested after crashing into police car following chase

An off-road biker was arrested accused of a string of offences after crashing into a police care following a chase.

Salford North West neighbourhood officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called to reports of a biker driving dangerously near Captain Fold Road, Little Hulton, just after 5pm yesterday (Saturday).

Following a chase, the bike smashed into the police car. The driver of the bike then ran away.

He was later arrested on suspicion of failing to stop; driving without insurance; driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence; drug driving; and possession of class B drugs.

Officers said no one was hurt. The bike has been seized.

The GMP vehicle is awaiting repairs for minor damage.
