Odsonne Edouard 'worth £40million' as Celtic star is given rave review by former striker

Former Aberdeen striker Noel Whelan believes Celtic should be asking for up to £40million to sell Odsonne Edouard in the summer.

The Frenchman has 27 goals in all competitions this season and has been linked with the likes of Everton and Leicester City .

It has been rumoured that Celtic won't even discuss a deal below £30million but Whelan thinks they should go even higher.

The ex Livingston forward told Football Insider : “I’d say between £35-40million in this going market.

“I think that’s absolutely fine, how old is he, 22? You’re getting a bargain, he’s going to be with you for four years, you’re going to get the best out of him.

“A price of £30million? I’d take that all day long.”

Edouard was signed for a club record £9million in the summer of 2018, having spent the previous season on loan at Celtic Park.

He's scored 61 goals in 125 games for the Hoops, and also has 11 goals in just six caps for the French Under-21 side.
