Odsonne Edouard transfer latest as Crystal Palace ‘focus’ on Celtic star after Eddie Nketiah deal falls through

Crystal Palace are focusing on Odsonne Edouard ahead of deadline day, according to a report.

The English Premier League side are now looking to seal a deal for Edouard after seeing a move for Eddie Nketiah fall apart.

They had hoped to sign the Arsenal striker but were unwilling to meet the £15million price tag the Gunners had placed upon him.

Now the Athletic report they will focus all their efforts on bringing in Edouard over the next 24 hours.

The Frenchman is also valued at around £15m with a year left on his deal and Palace hope they can strike an agreement with Celtic.

It means Edouard’s final game for the club could have been in the 1-0 loss to Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.

Edouard was hooked by Ange Postecoglou on 66 minutes after his side went 1-0 down.

The Hoops boss admitted he should have started Kyogo Furuhashi at centre forward but decided to go for Edouard with the Japanese star on the left hand side.

Edouard has been at Celtic since 2017 after joining on an initial loan deal before Celtic then spent £9m on him.

But the club will owe 40 per cent of his sell on fee to PSG as part of that deal.
