Odsonne Edouard transfer latest as Celtic and Leicester 'agree fee' over striker

Leicester have agreed a deal to sign Odsonne Edouard, according to a report.

The Celtic striker is expected to leave this summer and it is believed personal terms had previously been agreed.

And now he’s set for a reunion with Brendan Rodgers that will see him attempt to make his mark in the English Premier League.

The Foxes finished fifth in the English top flight last season and will hope to go far in the Europa League.

And the Sunday Times say a fee of £15million has been agreed between the two clubs and it's expected to be sanctioned when Celtic appoint a new manager.

It’s a lot less than Celtic would have hoped for in the past but Edouard is now entering the final year of his contract.

And PSG’s 50 per cent sell-on clause on the profit made means the Hoops will make just £3m on the £9m they bought him for.

Edouard was signed by Rodgers back in 2017 on an initial loan deal before moving permanently the following summer.

And the ex-Celtic manager reckons the Frenchman can form a partnership with Kelechi Iheanacho up front, as well as being a long-term replacement for Jamie Vardy.

Edouard struggled at times during his final campaign at Celtic Park, having initially looked for a move last summer. He still ended the campaign as the Premiership's top goalscorer.

Arsenal and Inter Milan were also believed to be interested but it's Leicester who appear to have won the race to sign him.
