Odsonne Edouard transfer latest as Borussia Dortmund 'not convinced' by Celtic striker

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly decided against making a move for Odsonne Edouard.

The Celtic striker has been watched by the German giants, who sent scouts to cast their eye over him last October as he netted a hat-trick for France's U21s in their 5-3 win over Slovakia.

According to Ruhr24 though Edouard is no longer on Dortmund 's shortlist.

The outlet reports that they watched 'French Eddy' on several occasions but the Borussia Dortmund hierarchy were not sufficiently convinced.

While the Germans were clearly struck by Edouard's talent, Ruhr24 says that a price tag of up to £30million put them off.

Edouard has scored 28 goals in 45 games across all competitions so far this season.

The 22-year-old became Celtic's all-time record signing when he joined in the summer of 2018 for a reported fee of £9million.

Edouard has also attracted interest from the Premier League with Leicester City, Arsenal and Newcastle United all linked.
