Celtic star Odsonne Edouard has taken a thinly-veiled dig at Frank McAvennie over claims the striker looked uninterested.
The former Hoops forward made the claims earlier this week that Edouard looked ‘disinterested’ during the pre-season friendly with Ross County.
McAvennie reckons that Celtic should sell Edouard if they got a bid even close to his valuation this summer.
He had said: “When I watched Edouard the other day he looked a wee bit disinterested. Like he did not want to be there.
“Maybe he is just a big game player and he is just getting the minutes in. Maybe he needs crowds.
“I would watch this space with Edouard. Everybody has a price. If somebody offers above their valuation you have got to take it.
“I have not seen enough from Edouard in pre-season.
“I know it is just pre-season but I have not seen anything that suggests that he is up for this. This is a massive season.”
But now the Frenchman has taken to Twitter to hit back at McAvennie after grabbing a hat-trick against Hamilton Accies on the opening day of the season.
The 22-year-old was in sublime form as he grabbed a treble in the 5-1 victory over Accies at Celtic Park.
And following McAvennie's comments he took to Twitter to simply write: "Edouard doesn't seem interested ..."
Edouard also added an emoji of a man speaking before three footballs to signify his hat-trick.
And Hoops fans loved it as well with @LK95_ saying: “Fantastic, stick it to them”
@Kieran_Celtic added: “Get it up ye @MaccaFrank.”
@ANLCSC said: “The King has spoken”
Edouard's tweet had more than 2000 retweets and 5000 likes within 10 minutes of him posting it.
