Odsonne Edouard singles out Celtic turning point as he picks his favourite goal against Rangers

Celtic star Odsonne Edouard believes defeat to Rangers before the winter break was the catalyst for a run which sent them 13 points clear at the top of the league.

On December 29 Steven Gerrard 's side secured a first win at Celtic Park in close to a decade.

At two points behind with a game in hand that put the title in Rangers ' hands.

After the break though Celtic came roaring out of the traps and had established a 13 point lead when Scottish football was called to a halt.

The Hoops' star striker did an Instagram Q&A session and one fan asked him to pick out the most important part of the season.

Edouard replied: "The derby we lost.

"It allowed us to question ourselves during the break and to come back stronger for the second part of the season."

The Frenchman has quickly secured hero status with the Celtic fans, not least because he's scored six goals against Rangers.

Unsurprisingly one fan asked him about the derby winner in March 2018.

Edouard said: "It was a great day and I would say one of the best for me here at Celtic. That’s my favourite derby goal!"

Other than his goals, 'French Eddy' is known for his infamous comment about not reading - "I don't book".

With Europe in lockdown, has he gotten around to picking up something to read?

"I haven’t read a book! I prefer to watch TV. Recently I watched El Dragon on Netflix."
