Odsonne Edouard's post Celtic career begins with a bang as super sub fires late Crystal Palace double to sink Tottenham

Odsonne Edouard made a stunning start to life after Celtic after the Frenchman netted a late double to earn a shock win over table-topping Spurs.

The striker scored with his first touch for Crystal Palace after coming on as a late substitute and completed his brace in injury time.

Edouard came off the bench with six minutes left and was barely on the pitch a minute when he stroked the ball into the corner from Wilfried Zaha's low ball into the box.

That was the second goal for the Eagles against their London rivals after Zaha netted the opening goal at Selhurst Park from the penalty spot and Edouard scored again in injury time.

Edouard joined Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day and he has had the international break to get up to speed with his new teammates but had to settle for a place on the bench to start.

He fired in 86 goals for Celtic before his £15m move and has been tipped for big things south of the border.

And now the former PSG star has shown what all the fuss is about in the glare of the English Premier League.

Tottenham had a 100% record in the league so far this season while Palace hadn't even picked up a win but that all changed.

They were down to ten-men after Japhet Tanganga's red card and took the lead soon after through Zaha's penalty.

Edouard's double then sealed a huge win in the London derby.

New boss Vieira will now be hoping the arrival of Edouard on the scene helps to change their fortunes and it wasn't a bad start.
