Odsonne Edouard's Leicester move in tatters as Foxes close in on £23M Daka signing

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard 's proposed move to Leicester City looks to be hanging by a thread following reports Brendan Rodgers' side are closing in on the £23million signing of Patson Daka.

The Hoops talisman has been strong linked with a move to the Foxes for several months now, as he enters the final 12 months of his contract in Glasgow, with no potential extension likely any time soon.

Former Parkhead boss Rodgers is known to be an admirer of Edouard's, after all, he did fork out a club-record £9million to sign the striker from PSG back in 2018, but it now seems the Northern Irishman has his sights on another forward.

According to reports from Sky Sports, Leicester are ready to announce the signing of Zambian international Daka, following the pacy hitman's impressive 34 goals in 42 appearances for RB Salzburg last season, with a fee already agreed with the Austrian champions.

Daka could be unveiled as a Leicester player as soon as this week, with only the final few details of his new bumper contract to be ironed out, leaving Edouard unclear of where his future lies.

Earlier this month, we told you how Edouard was seriously considering running down his Celtic deal and leaving on a free transfer next summer, when he's likely to have more suitors and able to bank more from a lucrative free transfer.
