Odsonne Edouard should join AC Milan in the summer so he can spend a season working with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to Frank McAvennie.
The French hitman has netted 20 goals this season despite Celtic 's poor form but has come into question recently for his commitment and body language.
Edouard was subbed after an hour of the Hoops' 1-1 draw with Aberdeen on Wednesday and with his contract due to expire in 2022, the Parkhead side is largely expected to cash in on him while they can when the summer transfer window opens.
AC Milan have been linked with a move and their target man Ibrahimovic has just signed a year's extension, meaning he will remain at the club next season.
And McAvennie, who won the SPL and the Scottish Cup in his first spell at Parkhead in the 80s, reckons Milan would be a good move for the 23-year-old striker.
He believes Zlatan worked wonders for Paul Pogba at Manchester United and says he would do the same for Edouard if he took off to Serie A.
McAvennie told This Is Futbol : "If he went to AC Milan, Zlatan would get hold of him, that might be the best thing that could happen to Eddie.
“He’s at the top of the tree, Zlatan has been there for years – he did it with Pogba at Manchester United. Pogba didn’t do anything wrong when Zlatan was at Man United because they were pals and he kept him under control.
“It would be great if Eddie went to AC Milan because he would be learning from the best and he would teach him you can’t play when you want, you’ve got to play every game.
"Zlatan is old school and he would let him know. I personally think the boy can go all the way to the top because I know how good he is.”
