Odsonne Edouard latest as Celtic provide testing update following striker's Covid setback

Celtic have confirmed Odsonne Edouard 's positive Covid-19 test - but announced no other player has returned the same result.

The French Football Federation announced on Tuesday night the striker had been placed into isolation and would miss U-21 clashes against Liechtenstein and Slovakia.

Champions Celtic next play Rangers on October 17 as domestic action pauses.

The frontman will now be required to isolate for 10 days as per Covid-19 guidelines.

Celtic issued a statement confirming Edouard's positive and provided a testing update on the rest of Neil Lennon's squad.

A Tweet said: "We can confirm that Odsonne Edouard has tested positive for COVID-19 while on international duty with France U21. As it stands, no other #CelticFC player has returned a positive test. Our thorough testing programme will continue and we will continue to follow all protocols."

Several of Lennon's players have broken up for the international break following the weekend Premiership win over St Johnstone in Perth.
