Odsonne Edouard is Juventus 'target' with Celtic striker on Andrea Pirlo's radar ahead of January

Juventus are reportedly tracking Odsonne Edouard.

Boss Andrea Pirlo wants another front man in addition to Spaniard Alvaro Morata and the Celtic striker apparently fits the profile the Italian legend is looking for.

And calciomercato.it claim that a January swoop for Edouard is a possibility for the Old Lady of Italian football.

The French Under 21 international hasn’t hit the heights of previous season at Parkhead, but oozed confidence at the weekend with a cheeky panenka penalty against Hearts in the Scottish Cup final.

Edouard has also been linked with Juve’s Serie A rivals Milan this season, while Aston Villa are no longer in the running to sign him.

The Hoops rate the striker at around £30million and that price tag deterred former boss Brendan Rodgers from taking Leicester City’s interest any further last season.

But Juve reckon Edouard could prove to be a wide investment given his age and potential for development.

The former Paris-SG man is entering the final 18-months of his Celtic contract and the window of opportunity to maximise the 22-year-old’s value is diminishing.

However, a January move is unlikely while The Celts still harbour ambitions of reigning in Rangers and claiming a historic tenth Scottish Premiership title in a row.
