Odsonne Edouard in Roma and Leicester transfer tussle as Celtic star sees price tag halved

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is eyeing a reunion with Odsonne Edouard this summer - but faces competition from Italian giants Roma.

The Irishman brought Edouard to Celtic from PSG during his time in Glasgow and now wants to take him south of the border to the English Premier League.

The Frenchman is out of contract next summer and could be available for less than £20million if Leicester make a move for him.

According to the Daily Mail, Rodgers is still a big fan of his and his price will drop by at least half from last summer when Celtic valued him at £40million.

Arsenal and Aston Villa are also reportedly interested but it’s Roma who are most likely to go head-to-head with Rodgers for him.

They want a replacement for Edin Dzeko, with the 34-year-old closing in on the end of his career and feel Edouard would be a perfect signing.

Earlier this season, Neil Lennon admitted the Frenchman had been frustrated at being denied a move last summer.

He said: "He had issues from the first half of the season. He felt he missed out on a potential move, so he has galvanised himself and is making a good contribution at the minute."
