Odsonne Edouard in Everton transfer link as Celtic star 'eyed' by Rafa Benitez

Everton have been linked with a move for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.

The Frenchman is out of contract next summer and has been mooted for a move to several clubs south of the border.

He's been an increasingly important part of Ange Postecoglou's plans but the Hoops are closing in on Greek striker Georgios Giakoumakis.

That could open the door for Edouard to leave before the window closes next Friday.

Sky Sports are reporting that Everton are poised to take advantage and have made contact with Celtic about a potential deal.

It's said that Toffees boss Rafa Benitez has been a fan of Edouard since he was at Newcastle and now wants to bring him to Goodison Park.

It's understood the Hoops would look for around £15m for the hitman.

A chunk of that would be due to PSG as part of a sell-on clause which sees them entitled to 20% of the profit made on any deal.

Edouard has three goals this season to take his total for Celtic to 86 in 178 appearances.
