Odsonne Edouard in Arsenal transfer red alert as Gunners 'ready' to make Celtic an offer

Arsenal are reportedly ready to make Celtic an offer for Odsonne Edouard.

The English Premier League side have been watching the France U21 striker for more than six months but are now said to be poised to make their move.

Arsenal have already raided the Scottish champions for Kieran Tierney last summer – and now they want Edouard as a replacement for outgoing Alexandre Lacazette, report the Transfer Window Podcast.

It is being claimed the Emirates club will offer little more than £20million plus add-ons for the Scottish Premiership’s best player – £5m less than they coughed up for Tierney.

Brighton were also interested in Edouard but as Record Sport had previously reported, the player is not interested in moving to the south coast side.

Arsenal would be more attractive to the 22-year-old, although as we exclusively revealed last month, he is happy at Celtic as they look to secure a historic 10 titles in succession.

The Gunners need more firepower, though, with Lacazette the subject of interest from Atletico Madrid and Juventus.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is close to signing a new deal at Arsenal and Mikael Arteta sees Edouard as the ideal partner for the Gabon superstar up front.

Celtic are unlikely to part with Edouard this season, however, as they chase history – and certainly not for that price.

But Arsenal remain intent on signing the former Paris Saint-Germain starlet, reports Ian McGarry in the Transfer Window Podcast.
