Odsonne Edouard iconic Celtic Stone Roses chant used to announce Crystal Palace signing

Odsonne Edouard's signing at Crystal Palace was teased to fans on social media using his iconic Stone Roses chant.

The former Celtic striker completed a deadline day switch to Selhurst Park in a £14million deal that finally saw him depart Celtic Park after months of speculation.

He links up with compatriot Patrick Vieira in South London after four years with the Hoops.

Palace won the race to sign Edouard after reported interest over the summer from the likes of Everton, Brighton, Bordeaux and Dynamo Moscow.

And the Eagles' media team were on the ball when it came to his announcement.

A teaser video from the club's official Twitter account showed Edouard browsing the vinyl in a London record shop before reaching the "S" section and pulling out the Stone Roses record "I Wanna Be Adored).

Edouard pays and leaves the shop, walking along Berwick Street, which was also used for the iconic Oasis album cover for "What's The Story Morning Glory?".

Edouard eventually reaches a flat, where he presses the buzzer for "CPFC" before heading up.

All the while, audio of Celtic fans singing his name to the famous Stone Roses tune is playing, at first in the background then building up and getting louder before the video ends.

In a farewell message to those same fans, Edouard wrote: "All great things must come to an end. my time at Celtic has come to an end. I have wonderful memories at my time with the club. I can not thank the fans enough for the support and love throughout my 4 years with the club.

"I would like to thank the players, board and everyone connected to the club. I wish the club all the best for the future."
