Partick Vieira has urged Crystal Palace fans to give Odsonne Edouard time to adjust to life in the English Premier League.
The Frenchman made flying start to life in the Premier League after leaving Celtic, netting two goals against Tottenham in a late substitute appearance.
Despite this the 23-year-old wasn't handed a start against Liverpool, and his cameo off the bench couldn't prevent a 3-0 defeat to Jurgen Klopp's side.
Following his departure from the Scottish Premiership, Selhurst Park boss Vieira insists he will give his new recruit to adjust to the standard down south.
With a clash against rivals Brighton, he has called for patience from Eagle's diehards going into the clash on Monday.
When asked if Edouard was ready to start a game for Palace, having started seven games in Europe and the Scottish top flight before his exit, Vieira said: “Yes I think he has been fit and is ready to start a game.
"It is just moving to a different country and moving to the Premier League, he needs time to adapt.
“We will take our time to make him feel comfortable in the club, in the way we want to play but he is physically and mentally ready to start the game.
“I am pleased and happy with him. He came on, scored those two goals and came on against Liverpool and created a couple of situations.
“He is a player who needs to adapt himself to the Premier League and to the club but he is working well.
"I think he gives me one more option up front about who to select for the game.”
