Odsonne Edouard earns rave Celtic transfer verdict as ex-England star asks 'where do they get these players?'

Former England star Kevin Phillips has praised Celtic's recruitment and their ability to continually unearth "gems" like Odsonne Edouard.

The Frenchman signed for £9million from PSG in the summer of 2017 and his value has soared as the striker hit the 20-goal mark for the season against Ross County at the weekend.

The Parkhead side would make a hefty profit were to cash in on their prized asset with clubs expected to come calling in the summer.

Record Sport revealed Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City will submit a £30m offer at the end of the season in an attempt to reunite with Edouard.

And Phillips has hailed Celtic's transfer policy and scouting network in recent years as they have consistently brought talented players to the club and then moved them on recouping a bigger fee.

Phillips, speaking to Football Insider, said: "It’s amazing how many players play for Celtic that go on to great things. Where do they unearth these players from?

“It’s just incredible, they’ve obviously got a great scouting network and their recruitment department must be very, very good.”

Edouard is currently the Premiership's top scorer and seems to be thriving alongside Leigh Griffiths as Neil Lennon has adopted two strikers since after the winter break.

The 22-year-old didn't get on the scoresheet in his side's 3-0 win against St Johnstone on Wednesday night but played an integral part in Celtic's rampant first half where they scored all three of their goals.
