After scoring with his first touch, Odsonne Edouard has spoken of a "dream debut" for Crystal Palace.
The ex-Hoops hitman entered the fray with six minutes remaining to put Palace two to the good against then-Premier League leaders Spurs yesterday.
With time ticking down he got his second and the Selhurst Park club's third to seal new boss Patrick Vieira's first three points in charge.
The £14m deadline day signing was in complete disbelief after starting life with a bang at his new club following his Parkhead exit.
Edouard told the Crystal Palace website : “It’s a dream debut for me. I waited a long, long time for this and I’m very happy to score for the first win in front of the fans.
“I didn’t believe it. . . I need to enjoy it and for sure I’ll watch again my goals. I’m very happy.”
The 23-year-old revealed France legend Vieira's instructions for him as he took to the pitch, discussing how welcome he's been made to feel in South London since swapping the Premiership for the Premier League.
Edouard added: "He said: ‘Help the team, make a lot of runs behind and try to help the team defensively and play like you do well.’
“So after I came on I wanted to score and help the team. It’s good I scored two goals and I’ll enjoy it, but tomorrow I go back to work.
“I want to work hard for next week and now this game is finished I want to forget and work hard for a good performance again.
“The training was very good. The guys at the club, the team, the staff is unbelievable. They welcomed me very well and it feels easy for me.”
