Odsonne Edouard Celtic transfer timescale revealed as Brighton 'in talks' with wantaway striker

Brighton are hoping to have a deal for Odsonne Edouard wrapped up as soon as next week according to reports in France.

The Celtic striker has been subject to plenty of speculation this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.

Arsenal and Leicester have both been heavily linked in the past and it is generally understood that he wants a move.

The headlines surrounding a potential move have coincided with a drastic dip in form and Edouard recently lost his starting spot to new signing Kyogo Furuhashi.

Ange Postecoglou only used him as a substitute against Jablonec in Thursday's Europa League clash and many took that as the final nail in his coffin as a Celtic player.

And it's now being reported in France that a proposed move to Brighton could be concluded "next week."

It comes from journalist Ignazio Genuardi, who was quick out the blocks with news of Olivier Ntcham's release from Celtic Park.

If he's correct this time, then Celtic's prospects of strengthening the squad further this summer could get a major boost.

The fee on the table hasn't been declared but Leicester were close to a £15m deal for Edouard back in June and it's likely Brighton will have to cough up a similar sum.
