Odsonne Edouard Celtic transfer news as Inter Milan rejoin race amid expected player exodus

Inter Milan have reportedly rejoined the race for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.

According to Italy's CalcioMercato, the Serie A champions have rekindled their interest to rival their city rivals AC Milan and Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City.

Inter are expected to make widespread player sales to tackle mounting debts - part of the reason why triumphant boss sensationally walked out on the club last month with Simone Inzaghi leaving Lazio to arrive as his successor.

One or both of forward pairing Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku are said to be in line for a move to generate the bulk of the income needed.

If either star leaves the Nerazzuri it's likely their replacement will be a younger player who can be developed on the cheap and that appears to be where Edouard comes in.

With just a year remaining on his Parkhead contract he's expected to depart this summer though a recent social media post hinted fans haven't seen the last of him in green and white just yet.

Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reported in March that Neil Lennon and Celtic weren't interested in a loan-to-buy proposal last season.

The Frenchman was kept around for the 10 In A Row push but that costly trade-off hasn't worked out with the Hoops falling well short in a season for the ages, although Edouard did once again finish as the league's top scorer.
