Odsonne Edouard Celtic transfer latest as huge price 'set' by Parkhead club amid PSG sell on clause question

Celtic are reportedly asking for at least £40million for Odsonne Edouard due in part to a sell-on clause in his contract.

The Premiership champions spent a club record fee to sign the striker permanently from Paris Saint-Germain in 2018.

Since then Edouard has gone from strength to strength, hitting 55 goals in his 101 games since signing permanently.

The 22-year-old has also struck 11 times in just six caps for the France Under-21 side, and has been attracting interest from across Europe.

According to the Daily Mail though the likes of Everton, Leicester City and Aston Villa could be put off by a £40million asking price.

The newspaper claims that Celtic have been forced to set that price because they owe a sell-on fee of 40 per cent to PSG when Edouard is sold.

The Parkhead club are hopeful they can hang on to him beyond this summer though, and are set to offer the striker a bumper new contract.

Manager Neil Lennon said: "We want to talk to Odsonne and his representatives.

“We want to keep him here for as long as we can and as long as he wants to be here."
