Odsonne Edouard Celtic transfer exit talks 'underway' as Brighton lay out deal timeline

Brighton are reportedly ramping up their interest in Odsonne Edouard as they look to seal a quickfire switch.

After a poor start to the season the Frenchman was left out of the starting line-up for the Europa League qualifier against Jablonec on Thursday.

A Celtic Park exit appears to be nearing for the striker in the coming days, according to reports in France.

Record Sport first reported that a deal of around £18.5m was proposed performance-related bonuses worth a total of £3.5m.

Their offer also entitles Celtic to a variable sell-on clause worth between five and 15 per cent of Edouard's next transfer should Brighton receive a fee of £30m or more for the forward.

The Seagulls kick-off their English Premier League campaign against Burnley on August 14 and Ignazio Genuardi for Get French Football News that they hope to have the deal over the line for the big kick-off.

They note that with discussions for the former Paris Saint-Germain starlet are "currently underway."

Edouard is in the final year of his Celtic deal and Parkhead powerbrokers will reluctantly let the free-scoring striker leave in order to avoid losing him without fee next summer

It is understood PSG are entitled to 40 per cent of Celtic's income from a move.

The 23-year-old hit 22 goals in 40 appearances last season and has notched more than 20 in each of the past three campaigns.
