Odsonne Edouard Celtic boost as Neil Lennon offers quadruple injury update ahead of Lille clash

Neil Lennon has confirmed Odsonne Edouard and Nir Bitton have travelled with the Celtic squad to Lille ahead of their Europa League clash.

The pair returned to training this week after their period of quarantine, along with Hatem Abd Elhamed.

It remained to be seen if they would be fit enough for the trip to France, but the duo have jetted out with their team-mates. However, Elhamed has been left in Glasgow.

Lennon isn't sure if they'll start against the Ligue 1 side, but hope they can play some part.

He said: “Elhamed has stayed in Glasgow, Bitton and Edouard have travelled. They’re up to speed to play a part in the game but whether we start them or not that’ll be something we’ll have to assess.”

Vasilis Barkas, who suffered a shoulder injury and missed the 3-3 draw against Aberdeen, is also available for selection, but is still hampered with the problem.

He added: “He’s (Barkas) travelled but he has an ongoing shoulder issue, it’s nothing too strenuous.”
