Odsonne Edouard breaks silence as Celtic star promises 'stronger' return after positive Covid test

Celtic star Odsonne Edouard has thanked fans for their support as he told them he would return stronger from his Covid-19 layoff.

The France U21 star tested positive for coronavirus while on international duty and will have to self-isolate in his homeland until he gets the all clear.

Supporters shared their worries for him on social media and he took to Twitter to tell them he feels good and will be back as soon as he can.

Edouard is the first Celtic player to test positive for the virus and the club are currently in talks with the Scottish Government over his return to Scotland.

He tweeted: "Thank you all for your messages of support! I’m fine and I would come back stronger, take care of yourself and your family.”

Edouard could miss the first derby of the season against Rangers in 10 days if he's forced to self-isolate for two weeks.

He's the latest Scottish football star to be hit by the virus as it takes a hold of the game in this country once more.

Kilmarnock were forced to put their entire squad into isolation after positive tests and it forced them to forfeit the Betfred Cup game with Falkirk on Tuesday night.

Forfar also had to concede their game against Dundee in the same tournament because of the virus.
