Odsonne Edouard and the key Celtic 'chat' as Alex McLeish makes Rangers return prediction

Alex McLeish believes Neil Lennon will have a face-to-face conversation with Odsonne Edouard before deciding if his star man can face Rangers.

The Celtic striker tested positive for coronavirus while on international duty with the France Under-21 side but only has to quarantine for seven days under local laws.

That means Edouard could be ready to face Rangers on Saturday, with teammates Ryan Christie and Nir Bitton sidelined.

And one former Ibrox gaffer believes the club's record signing will be desperate to play and will have to convince his manager to put him in.

McLeish told Football Insider : "It will be a concern, there’s no doubt about it, and the manager will be bursting to see him walking through that door in midweek – to have him ready.

“I think there’ll be a nice wee chat between the player and the manager and Neil will want to see where his head is at, what kind of level he feels he can commit to.

"It’s a massive, massive game, but again, it’s Rangers they’re playing, and I’m sure Edouard will be desperate to play.

“He’ll only hit Neil Lennon with positive vibes, I’m sure of it."
