Odsonne Edouard and the Celtic transfer stance that gives Juventus a problem they 'want to avoid'

Odsonne Edouard may not quite be hitting the heights this season but he's still Celtic 's go-to man in attack.

Transfer speculation surrounding the striker is no surprise these days and he's been linked with a host of clubs since sealing a £9million move from Paris Saint-Germain.

Serie A champions Juventus are the latest to be touted as admirers.

Boss Andrea Pirlo is keen to recruit an alternative to Alvaro Morata and a host of players have been tipped as fitting the bill.

Memphis Depay, Olivier Giroud or even a return to the club for Fernando Llorente, it seems clear Pirlo is keen on another frontman.

According to tuttosport, Edouard is a serious option for Juventus but price could prove a stumbling block.

When interest from Leicester City and Brendan Rodgers emerged in 2019, Celtic were quick to value the 22-year-old at up to £30million.

Italian media reckon that price is closer to £20m in the current market but also report these are the type of figures Juve "want to avoid".

January is already a notoriously difficult window in which to find value and Celtic will be in no mind to let Edouard go.

Celtic's board have already faced the wrath of a frustrated support this season and to sell the club's most talented player in the middle of the season seems unthinkable, especially if Juventus are unable to stump up top dollar.
