Odisha: Special Class X board exam from July 30

Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on Thursday announced the dates for the special Class X exam to be held offline from July 30 for those students who are not happy with the marks they got through alternative assessment.

Form fill-up will begin on July 5. The board also stated that students won’t require to pay fees to appear for the exams that will continue till August 5.

“The board was fully prepared to conduct the exams in offline mode in May but at the last moment it had to cancel it following a surge in Covid-19 cases. While cancelling the exams, the board had told that those not satisfied with the marks through alternative assessment may appear for the exam in offline mode when the Covid situation improves. The students will not face any difficulty in admission into higher secondary schools,” said a board official.

OSSTA demands entrance tests

The Odisha Secondary School Teachers’ Association (OSSTA) urged the government to make entrance examination mandatory for admission into Plus II. This can avoid the chaotic situation in the admission process and admission will be conducted on the basis of merit, the association stated.
