BHUBANESWAR: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast on Thursday said light to moderate rainfall may occur across the state on November 21 and the trend is likely to continue for the subsequent two-three days.
Showers, due to the influence of the recent low-pressure, may occur mostly in the south Odisha districts from November 19, the forecast said. Parts of north Odisha will also witness rainfall, the forecast added.
H R Biswas, director and head of the regional IMD centre, said the rainfall activity will decrease by November 24. Night temperature will rise during rainfall period.
The IMD's fresh bulletin said last week's system formed over the Andaman Sea now persists over southeast and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal. It is likely to move westwards and reach west central and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal off south Andhra Pradesh by Thursday.
