Odisha: Indigo flight makes emergency landing at Bhubaneswar airport

BHUBANESWAR: A Hyderabad-bound Indigo flight (6E-946), which was coming from Kolkata, made an emergency landing at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) Bhubaneswar at around 5.55pm on Thursday due to a medical emergency.

The flight was diverted to Bhubaneswar airport due to an emergency breathing problem of a passenger 59-year-old Jayabrata Ghosh. He was travelling with his family of four. Apollo doctors attended the passenger in flight itself and declared cardiac arrest, official sources said.

The doctor also suggested that the passenger needs hospitalisation immediately. He was shifted to the Capital Hospital by an airport authority of India (AAI) ambulance for further medical help. The passenger and his family members were deboarded at the airport and the flight took off for Hyderabad.
