KEONJHAR: Additional sessions and special judge Subhashree Tripathy on Monday sentenced two persons to 20 years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each for raping a minor girl in 2018.
The convicted duo - Kalia Lohar and Abhinash Laguri - forcibly took the victim in a tipper from near her house and drove to Palasa forest under Bamebari police station around 6.30 pm on March 25, 2018. The duo then raped the girl in the forest.
After committing the crime, they left the victim near the Bill Gate chowk (Khandbandh). The victim then went home with a friend and lodged a complaint with Bamebari police station the next day. Soon after, the accused were arrested and forwarded to court.
