BHUBANESWAR: Most places in north Odisha and a few more places in other pockets, including the city, witnessed light to moderate rainfall in the last 24 hours under the influence of western disturbance, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday.
Bhuban and Paradip in Dhenkanal and Jagatsinghpur districts received highest 37 mm and 36.2 mm rainfall respectively during the period. The city recorded 15.2 mm rainfall in the same period, the IMD report said. Shallow to moderate fog also prevailed at some places. H R Biswas, scientist and head of the regional IMD centre here, said dry weather would prevail from Wednesday. It would be accompanied by gradual fall in night temperature by three to five degrees Celsius.
There is a yellow warning of dense fog at isolated places in selected districts spread over south, interior and coastal pockets for three days from Tuesday, he said.
