Odion Ighalo: Manchester United ready to go head-to-head with Arsenal and Chelsea for Watford striker - reports

Manchester United are set to approach Watford for striker Odion Ighalo, according to reports.

Ighalo has hit the ground running since joining Watford, scoring 20 goals last season to help the Hornets earn promotion from the Championship and the Nigerian has carried that impressive form into his debut season in the Premier League, scoring 14 goals in 26 league appearances.

United are not the only Premier League team vying for his signature, as Arsenal and Chelsea are hot on the trail.

United have been short of goals this season with Anthony Martial being the only shining light for a side who have scored just 33 times so far in the Premier League under Louis Van Gaal.

The signing of Ighalo would be a welcome addition to United’s attacking options as they are short on out-and-out strikers having let Javier Hernandez and Robin Van Persie leave during the summer transfer window to Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahce respectively.
