Odion Ighalo in Manchester United squad for Chelsea clash

Odion Ighalo will be included in Manchester United’s travelling squad for Chelsea, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed.

The on-loan striker is still to train with his new teammates since his deadline day move from Shanghai Shenhua.

And despite missing out on the club’s trip to Marbella this week, Solskjaer is wants him involved in the crunch game at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

Victory against fourth-placed Chelsea would be a massive boost to United’s hopes of Champions League qualification, while defeat would leave them nine points adrift of Frank Lampard’s side.

Solskjaer said: “Yeah, he is going to travel with us. We will just see his fitness work this week and I think we will get him sharp.

“We want to integrate him as quickly as we can because, of course, he is desperate to play for us.”

Scott McTominay is on the verge of a return after stepping up his recovery from knee ligament damage.

Axel Tuanzebe and Tim Fosu-Mensah are also close to being in contention.

Solskjaer told ManUtd.com: “I hope that we will see some of them before the end of this week, but next week will be a big week for them as well to get them match fit, so hopefully we can get them back on the pitch with their kit on soon.”
