Odion Ighalo explains emotional Manchester United goal celebration

Odion Ighalo says he will dedicate every goal he scores at Manchester United to his late sister.

The Nigerian forward sadly lost his sister Mary Atole in December of last year but says he is inspired by her to be a success at their childhood club.

Ighalo secured a dream loan move to United on January transfer deadline day and marked his first start for the club with his first goal for the club too.

The 30-year-old finished clinically from close range in the first-half of United's 5-0 thrashing of Club Brugge on Thursday night as he reacted well to bury Juan Mata's cross.

Ighalo celebrated the goal by revealing an undershirt with a photo dedication to his sister on it, and he says he will continue to do so throughout his time at the club.

"Yeah, the T-shirt is for my late sister," he told MUTV.

"I lost my sister in December, and she is very dear to me, she is a good United fan too.

"We hoped for this moment, but now I am in United she is not here to see what is going on. So it is a bit emotional for me, so I promise myself that every goal I score I will dedicate to her. So she is up there watching me and doing well for United."
